Windows 11 has introduced several AI-driven features designed to streamline workflows and improve efficiency. From intelligent task management to advanced security protocols, these updates will change how employees interact with their PCs. The integration of AI in Windows 11 not only consists of adding new features, but it also transforms the entire user experience to make daily tasks more intuitive and less time-consuming. One of its standout features is the AI-powered task management system. This system can predict and prioritise tasks based on user behaviour, ensuring employees focus on the most critical activities. Additionally, AI-enhanced security measures provide robust protection against cyberthreats, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining data integrity. These advances are crucial for businesses aiming to create secure and efficient digital workspaces.
AI Integration in Windows 11
As organisations around the world move towards a more digitally integrated future, the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in reshaping the workplace is becoming increasingly evident. PC systems are evolving. They are now able to run AI workloads locally (so called AI PCs), and operating systems are being adapted, too. The latest Windows 11 update is a testament to this evolution, embedding AI capabilities directly into the operating system to enhance user experience and productivity.

Traditionally, the conversation around new technology investments has centred on cost. However, organisations’ perceptions of AI PCs are evolving from “expensive devices” to “workforce productivity and employee satisfaction tools”. The initial investment in AI PCs can be offset by long-term gains in efficiency, organisational growth, and innovation. A case can also be made that device-based AI decision-making will alleviate the costs associated with running AI queries exclusively in cloud data centres. Businesses that embrace this technology will not only see a return on investment, but they will also position themselves as leaders in innovation and employee well-being.
The 14th of October 2025 is the official end-of-service (EOS) date for Windows 10. Many businesses have delayed capital expenditures by extended PC lifecycles. Thus, many of these Windows PCs are more than four years old, acquired before the pandemic. And, while some existing Windows 10 systems in enterprise fleets may meet the requirements to support an in-place Windows 11 upgrade, most will need to be replaced with a new futureproof system that will likely be in place for another four years.
From Cost to Value
Explore Insight's Workplace Solutions
By automating mundane tasks, AI PCs free up valuable time for employees to engage in more strategic and creative activities that drive innovation and growth. This efficiency boost can lead to faster project completion times and improved overall performance, driving career advancement, among others. The results of IDC’s GenAI Pricing Model Survey confirm this, with 52% of interviewed IT leaders rating “enhanced employee productivity” as an extremely compelling benefit of AI PC adoption. In addition, on-device querying that precludes sensitive information being uploaded to the cloud will likely be another key selling point for IT decision makers – in particular, in security-conscious industries and businesses with flexible work models. A significant benefit of AI PCs is their ability to enhance employee satisfaction. Nearly half (47%) of surveyed IT decision makers believe improved satisfaction is a significant benefit of AI integration. This shift in sentiment is crucial for organisations aiming to retain top talent and foster a positive work environment. Happy employees are more likely to be productive, engaged, and committed to their roles, contributing to the overall success of the organisation. Overall, the adoption of AI PCs is expected to have a profound impact on the workforce. According to IDC’s recent Employee Experience Survey, 75% of EMEA employees anticipate that AI will significantly affect their job roles by 2026. This shift is not merely about automation but also about augmenting human capabilities to achieve higher productivity levels. Moreover, 55% of employees estimate that AI will save them at least three hours per week. This time saving potential is crucial for businesses looking to optimise their operations and reduce overhead costs.

Why Insight
Explore Insight's Windows 11 & AI-PC solutions
The integration of AI into PCs, in parallel with migration to the latest Windows 11 upgrade (with Windows 10 reaching end of service in October 2025), will play a significant role in the transformation of the workplace. By enhancing productivity, saving time, and improving employee satisfaction, AI PCs offer a compelling value proposition for businesses across Europe. With device-as-a-service solutions, organisations can adopt this technology in a cost-effective manner. As we approach 2026, organisations that leverage these technologies will be better equipped to navigate the evolving digital landscape and achieve sustainable growth. The shift from viewing technology investments as mere expenses to recognising their value in driving productivity and satisfaction is essential for future success. Embracing AI PCs and DaaS solutions will enable businesses to stay ahead of the curve, fostering a dynamic and efficient work environment that benefits both employees and the organisation.
CONCLUSION
For organisations seeking to maximise ROI and safeguard their budgets against inflation, device lifecycle services (DLS) – offered through device-as-a-service (DaaS) models – present a solution for adopting AI PCs. Rather than making large upfront investments, companies can provision the latest AI-enabled devices on a subscription basis, shifting from a traditional ownership mindset to a flexible usage model similar to mobile phone or streaming service subscriptions. This approach not only delivers financial agility and predictable costs; it also ensures employees always have access to fully supported and up-to-date technology. As a result, cost justification discussions move beyond simple purchase price, focusing instead on total cost of ownership (TCO) and total contract value (TCV), as well as the reliability of the DLS provider. Ultimately, device lifecycle services are becoming more common for equipping teams with cutting-edge devices, empowering finance teams to meet their objectives while future-proofing the organisation’s technology strategy. This continuous improvement cycle helps maintain high productivity levels and keeps the workforce motivated.

Windows 11’s hardware-backed defenses also extend to protecting users from phishing attacks. The advanced security mechanisms in Windows 11 resulted in nearly 2.9x fewer identity theft incidents compared to Windows 102. This level of protection is made possible by leveraging hardware-based security features that are not present in Windows 10, providing an additional layer of defense against phishing and identity theft.
Enhanced phishing protection
Windows 11 incorporates advanced security features that rely on dedicated hardware modules, such as TPM 2.0 and Microsoft’s Pluton security processor. These features provide robust protection for credentials, shield the system from malware, and safeguard applications. As a result, there has been a reported 62% decrease in security incidents, with a significant 3.0x reduction in firmware attacks2. By utilising integrated hardware modules, Windows 11 mitigates the vulnerabilities associated with outdated security protocols, making it harder for attackers to exploit the system.
Hardware-backed protections
As premier Solutions Intergrator, we often hear from our clients, “We understand that Windows 10 is nearing end of life, but our machines have been running fine — no breaches here.” But cybercriminals aren’t wasting their time with 10-year-old software and hardware unless it’s to devise new, insidious ways to breach your outdated systems. The absence of news on the cyberattack front belies the current and present risks inherent in your decade-old systems. Your devices running on Windows 10 may have survived in an era of simpler threats, but today’s attacks are multi-vector, sophisticated, and relentless.

1 Techaisle. (Feb. 2024). Windows 11 Survey Report. 2 Windows 11 Survey Report.
For any organisation serious about security, the urgency to migrate to Windows 11 cannot be overstated. The difference between Windows 10 and Windows 11 is profound. Windows 11’s secure-by-design approach is far superior to the security features offered by Windows 10 — protecting against sophisticated, multi-vector attacks like firmware breaches and identity theft. Window 10’s end of life date on October 14, 2025, is fast approaching, and your organisation’s transition to Windows 11 may take longer than expected. Delaying this upgrade is not just risky but places your future in serious peril with increased device vulnerability and related costs — both from potential breaches and expedited upgrades after the deadline has passed. Savvy organisations are already making the move. Don’t discount the urgency: It’s time to migrate to Windows 11.
Migrate with security
Pluton security processor
• Trusted boot: Unlike Windows 10, Windows 11 enforces a rigorous Secure Boot process. Every component during startup — from firmware to drivers — is authenticated and verified. This ensures no unauthorised code or tampered firmware is allowed to run, minimising the risk of rootkits and other boot-level malware. • Device Health Attestation (DHA) & granular policy management: Continuous monitoring of device integrity means every access point is scrutinised. With sophisticated auditing and control settings, Windows 11 gives you the visibility and control necessary for full compliance and assurance, checking that all hardware and software components are compliant with security policies before granting access to critical resources. This means that a compromised device — whether due to outdated software or malware — is promptly flagged and isolated from sensitive networks. • Robust cryptographic protocols: Windows 11 secures your data transmission and storage with cutting-edge encryption, streamlined certificate management, and advanced code signing. This certifies that only verified software and drivers run on your system — drastically reducing the threat of malicious code.
Enhanced boot and runtime protection
How Windows 11 tackles legacy vulnerabilities and modern threats
Microsoft’s Pluton security processor offers advanced security architecture with unparalleled protection for sensitive data, such as credentials and encryption keys. • Integration into the CPU: Unlike traditional security chips that are separate from the CPU, Pluton is integrated directly into the CPU. This integration makes it significantly harder for attackers to physically tamper with the security processor without damaging the entire CPU. • Secure storage: Pluton securely stores sensitive data within the processor, isolating it from the main operating system. This means that even if an attacker gains physical access to the device, extracting this data is extremely difficult. • Continuous firmware updates: Pluton receives firmware updates directly from Microsoft, keeping it protected against the latest threats. This continuous update mechanism helps to mitigate vulnerabilities that could be exploited through physical attacks. •Tamper-resistant design: Pluton’s architecture is resistant to tampering. Any attempt to physically access or modify the processor triggers security mechanisms that protect the stored data.

Embracing the common challenges associated with technical debt serves as a powerful call to action for organizations to address and overcome it. Technical debt, often represented by legacy infrastructure, significantly drains resources. It hampers productivity and agility while hindering transformation efforts. This pressure highlights the need to shift toward modern infrastructure solutions that promise better business outcomes. However, the path to modernization comes with obstacles that can impede progress. Common challenges include: · Temporary fixes: Although they provide immediate relief, short-term solutions often fail to address underlying issues, leading to complications down the line. · One-off implementations: Implementing solutions in isolation can create a disjointed system that lacks coherence, making it difficult to achieve long-term objectives. · Outdated solutions: Relying on obsolete technologies stifles innovation and prevents organizations from fully benefiting from modernization. Meeting these challenges head-on is essential for organizations aiming to reduce technical debt. This way, they can transition to a more efficient and agile infrastructure. By viewing these challenges as opportunities for growth and improvement, organizations can move toward a more sustainable and resilient IT environment.
Don’t be afraid to embrace the common challenges
Technical debt is a common obstacle to modernisation efforts. It represents the potential costs associated with replacing outdated or rapidly implemented solutions that provide limited benefits. Organisations often choose quick and cost-effective solutions to meet immediate needs, which can inadvertently lead to the accumulation of technical debt. Understanding technical debt is essential for organisations aiming for operational efficiency and innovation. Business leaders frequently seek clarity on the extent of their technical debt, effective strategies for addressing it, and a comprehensive plan for ongoing management. As technical debt builds up over time, it increases maintenance costs, reduces productivity, and decreases organisational agility. This accumulation creates a significant barrier to system modernisation and hinders business innovation. Unfortunately, many organisations lack the resources or capabilities to effectively address their technical debt. Recognising these challenges is the first step toward developing impactful solutions.
What is Technical Debt?
Business leaders often underestimate the extent of technical debt within their IT environment, where it has accumulated, and the costs it has incurred over time as their organisation has grown. This accumulation can result in higher maintenance costs, decreased productivity, and reduced agility, which in turn can impede efforts to modernise operations and drive business innovation. Many organisations face challenges in allocating resources toward addressing technical debt — highlighting the importance of adopting a proactive approach to managing this issue. Fortunately, by implementing an agile, modern infrastructure tailored to their specific needs, organisations can begin to mitigate technical debt, promote innovation, and effectively meet increasing demands without being burdened by legacy issues.
In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, businesses must continuously evolve their technology to remain competitive. However, technical debt can accumulate as systems grow and change, slowing innovation and increasing costs.
